Help for children with cancer in Ecuador

According to WHO statistcs for children with cancer

• today roughly 70% of sick children have a chance of full recovery, if they had access to modern medicine
• However, worldwide only 20% of children with cancer have this access
• The remaining 80% are left with no hope. These statistics correspond to the reality in Ecuador as well. The reason for such a huge gap is widespread poverty in this country.
• The reality is, that every year 100’000 children in development countries die of cancer.

ICCCPO (International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisation) believes

• that every child with cancer regardless of its financial, social or racial background deserves to have access to the best possible treatment and medical care
• that parents of children with cancer must have access to the information they require to make informed decisions about their child’s treatment

We want to make a difference in Ecuador by hopefully saving many children’s lives.
