All children come from poor economic
backgrounds, with the parents earning between 100 - 300 usd monthly.
Up to November 2005 our list of children
receiving our help counted 80. All our children come from poor economic
backgrounds, whereby their parents have a monthly income of between 100
– 300 Usd . Often these children are raised by their mothers only.
Usually there are no funds available for expensive medicines typical in
the treatment of cancer. As is the nature of this sickness, we often
deal with emergencies and medication is needed urgently. In life
threatening cases decisions have to be taken rapidly as to how much we
can spend on a specific case. In cases of longer term treatment we try
to involve parents and other institutions in the financing of the cure.
We try to find godfathers for specific children that will financially
foster the child through until it is declared cured. The following four children are examples of
profiles from our list. Click on the photo Jefferson Joselyn Jennifer

 In
the course of our work we continually experience success stories,
especially when a child can terminate its treatment and is declared as
cured. However, sometimes we face sad drawbacks. Children for whom we
had hoped for recovery enter into terminal stage and all we can do for
them is to fulfill them a last wish or help their parents finance a
decent burial.
When we receive all those letters and drawings from
parents and children, who want to thank us and our donors for yet
another life safed, we know that our work is worth the effort. |
