In Summer 2007 some pupils of the Quito German School worked in a
media-projekt about our fundacion. With the partnership of the German
Embassy the made the followingh report. read more- Month of December 2005 In the pre-Christmas period we produced
and partially sold 930 Packets of 8 Christmas cards each which were
designed by 4th grade children from Colegio Aleman, Quito. By managing
and organizing every step of the printing, packaging and selling
process ourselves, we achieved very low production costs of 50 US
cents per packet. The profit from this campaign is helping us now
to pay for much needed medicines. We would like to thank all the
children from 4DK for their design work and also Alois Speck for
helping us in the production work.
- November 27, 2005, We handed out information about “Sol y Vida”
at the international Christmas market organized by all the embassies
in Quito. read more

- Since September 2005, every Tuesday 2 students from Colegio Aleman
go to the hospital Baca Ortiz to work with the sick children by
playing and entertaining them, while they are awaiting their turn
to receive chemotherapy. This way their sometimes long and tedious
wait is lightened up somewhat. On the other hand, these students
with usually more comfortable backgrounds have the opportunity to
witness and help children with desperate needs in their own country.
We thank them for taking on that responsibility as well as the management
of Colegio Aleman for allowing these students to leave the campus
for this purpose. read more
- June 2005, The Pizza chain “Che Harina” together with the Shopping
Center “El Bosque” offered to donate the proceeds of this year’s
“Largest Pizza in Ecuador” to Sol y Vida. Leading up to the event
we gave several interviews in the local media. The publicity effect
help to bring lots of people to the event as well as directing public
attention to the cause of Sol y Vida. The day of the Pizza was a
huge success with hundreds of people standing in line for hours
to buy a piece of pizza to help the cancer children. They easily
had the alternative to buy a pizza in the nearby shopping center
food court without waiting We were astounded seeing the willingness
of the public to help. The proceeds of this event was approx. USD
4000. This amount was directly applied to the purchase of chemotherapies
and other much needed medicines. read more
